Occupational Hygienists

About Occupational Hygienists

Occupational Hygienists specialise in managing and assessing asbestos-related risks within workplaces. It is their responsibility to ensure safety when handling asbestos. Occupational Hygienists work with Class A (friable) and non-friable asbestos (Class B).
Occupational Hygienists (often referred to as Licensed Asbestos Assessors) prepare detailed technical reports on asbestos assessments, monitoring results, and clearance inspections. These reports guide decision-making and compliance with regulations.
AOHS works closely with other professionals, including asbestos removalists, to ensure the safe handling and disposal of ACMs. Our trained technicians have over 45 years of combined experience. So, when you hire us, you know we have the knowledge and commitment you need.

Their services include:

Asbestos Management Services

Identifying and assessing the presence of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in buildings, structures, and industrial sites.

The asbestos occupational hygienists will conduct asbestos surveys to evaluate the extent of asbestos exposure risk.

Asbestos hygienists perform air monitoring to measure airborne asbestos fibres during asbestos removal or maintenance activities.
After asbestos removal, they conduct clearance inspections to ensure the area is safe for reoccupation.
They develop strategies to minimise asbestos exposure for workers and occupants.
During asbestos removal, protective measures, such as personal protective equipment (PPE) and containment procedures, should be recommended.
