Asbestos Testing
Asbestos testing involves collecting and analysing samples from materials suspected to contain asbestos to determine whether a material contains asbestos fibres.
Our Licensed Asbestos Assessors (Occupational Hygienists) collect samples from various areas of a property. A lab technician approved by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) processes these samples for analysis. We collect samples of materials that might contain asbestos, including insulation, ceiling tiles, flooring, and roofing.
The laboratory examines the samples under controlled conditions to identify the presence of asbestos.
If we detect asbestos, we confirm its presence through analysis. The Certificate of Analysis details the findings and the type of asbestos-containing material identified.
Several types of analysis are available. Unless requested, we use PLM (Polarised light microscopy) or if more in-depth testing is requested.
