Asbestos Sampling

Asbestos sampling involves collecting samples of materials suspected to contain asbestos for testing and analysis. The purpose of sampling is to determine whether a material contains asbestos fibres. Types of Sampling (Product): Bulk ID samples, swab (dust) samples, air samples.

Our Licensed Asbestos Assessors (Occupational Hygienists) collect samples for suspected asbestos-containing materials within a workplace. Our specialists will remove the asbestos-containing material from the floors, walls, ceilings, and other areas.

We take the following steps during the process of asbestos sampling to ensure your safety and determine if there is asbestos and to what extent:

We thoroughly inspect the building or area, looking for asbestos-containing materials. Common asbestos-containing materials include insulation, ceiling tiles, flooring, roofing, and textured coatings.
Our specialists assess the condition of the materials suspected to contain asbestos. Damaged, deteriorated, or crumbled materials are more likely to release asbestos fibres into the air, posing a higher risk.
We collect small samples of the suspected materials using appropriate tools and techniques. The goal is to obtain a sample that reflects the presence or absence of asbestos. To prevent contamination, we collect the samples in sealable containers.
We carefully label each sample and prepare detailed documentation, including the sample’s location and material type.

A NATA-accredited laboratory analyses the samples to determine the presence of asbestos fibres. If present, it identifies the type and concentration of asbestos. The results of the analysis provide information about the potential health risks. If we find asbestos, we may need to take appropriate measures to manage the risk. These measures include encapsulation, removal, or other forms of risk reduction.

Remember that asbestos sampling is crucial for identifying and managing asbestos risks. Always treat suspected asbestos as asbestos until test results confirm otherwise. If you suspect asbestos, call us immediately. We also offer the services of an onsite laboratory if needed.
